Play for the experience

Responsible play

PachiPass exists to help you enjoy a slice of Japanese culture, not to encourage gambling. If you play, play for the experience, and know where to get help.

Updated 4 October 2026

Keep it fun: our five rules

  1. Decide your budget before you walk in, and bring only that in cash. Treat it as the price of the experience, like a show ticket. See what it costs.
  2. Set a stop time. Halls have no clocks in your eyeline and the animations never end.
  3. Never chase losses. The machine has no memory. A “near miss” or a dramatic reach doesn’t mean a win is due.
  4. Don’t play to make money. Over time, the hall wins.
  5. Don’t play when stressed, drunk or upset, and take breaks.

Warning signs

  • Spending more money or time than you planned, again and again
  • Going back to win back what you lost
  • Borrowing money, or hiding how much you play
  • Feeling anxious or irritable when you’re not playing

If any of these sound familiar, talk to someone. The services below are free and confidential.
